In real field tests, spurts of liquids and fine powders can compromise measuring equipment and the environmental conditions can be critical for success of the tests.
M.A.R.S.® system is designed and built to deal with the most unfavorable conditions, even in presence of moisture, mud, dust and severe temperatures. The internal structure with carbon fiber shock absorbers, along with an internal cable enclosure, can withstand shocks and strong vibrations.

M.A.R.S.® by Fluid-A Engineering is a reliable, rugged and flexible data acquisition system, equipped with an intuitive and user-friendly software, designed to perform multiphysics data acquisition, storage and analysis in the worst field conditions. In automotive, earth-moving machinery and agricultural applications, the ruggedness and compactness are essential characteristics for a reliable data acquisition system.
M.A.R.S.® is built in a shock resistant IP67 waterproof polypropilene case and equipped with IP68 connectors. Its lightweight design (4.6 kg) and its compact dimensions (300 mm x 225 mm x 132 mm) makes it ideal for field testing.

The data stream to the tablet is guaranteed by an integrated 150 Mbps WLAN card, with a range of approximately 30 meters in open field.

M.A.R.S.® is available with 2 battery packs:
-
25000 mAh with a duration of approximately 3 hours
-
50000 mAh with a duration of approximately 6 hours
The system can also be plugged to a 12Vdc or 230/110 Vac power source in order to recharge the battery while it’s working.
The system is both a data logger, writing data at the rate of 100 MB/s on a removable Solid State Disk, and a monitor, displaying the data stream on a IP68 rugged tablet and performing real-time and post-process analysis of the acquired signals.

M.A.R.S.® is available in two hardware configurations, depending on the Customer’s needs:
-
The Green Multipurpose System is the more versatile, with a huge number of different input channels
-
The Black Vibro-Acoustic System with a higher number of IEPE channels for microphones and accelerometers and 4 dedicated output channels for waveform generation

All sensors are connected to the M.A.R.S.® system using a single type of quick push-pull LEMO IP68 connector.
The internal wiring is designed to prevent any damage to the sensors or to the M.A.R.S.® even if a sensor is plugged in the wrong socket.
Once a sensor is plugged into a socket, its configuration is handled via software.
This allows the operator to swap two sensors, replace a sensor with another, or simply add new ones without worrying about the wiring. Upon customer request, sensors can be supplied pre-wired with a shielded multipolar cable of the required length and with a pre-assembled LEMO connector.
It is also possible to connect multiple sensors to the same socket using special multipolar connectors, enabling the connection of up to four different sensors to a single socket.
